In the latest Sports News, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced that Singapore would host the first Olympic Esports Week from June 22–25, 2023. The announcement represents the next significant step in advancing virtual sports within the Olympic Movement and further interacting with competitive gamers.

The Olympic Esports Week will feature the best of virtual sports in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, Community, and Youth, Sport Singapore, and the Singapore National Olympic Committee. This goes a long way in increasing awareness and support for eSports, which is growing rapidly in popularity as seen in many Bookie PPH sportsbooks around the world.

The Olympic Esports Series, a global virtual and simulated sports competition developed in collaboration with the International Federations (IFs) and building on the successes of last year’s Olympic Virtual Series, will have its first in-person live finals as the highlight of the week. Many in the pay per head bookie business know just how popular the sport will continue to grow, and with the Olympics increasing visibility, it will help boost the industry.

The four-day festival will feature show matches, panel discussions, educational seminars, and displays of the most recent technology. Over 250,000 people from over 100 different nations competed in virtual and simulated sports, such as baseball, racing, cycling, rowing, and sailing, throughout the 2021 series. Early in 2023, information, including how to take part in the inaugural Olympic Esports Week and Olympic Esports Series, will be made public.
